The shoe is a high-priced headliner for Brooks this year, and overall, it performs well. Its main advantage is that its relatively light (12 oz.) and smooth striding. The midsole started out feeling quite soft, almost sluggish, out of the box, but seemed to pack down quickly and feels as responsive as a faster trainer should. I was disappointed, replica brand watches though, in the upper. The Trance 7, this shoes predecessor, was a luxuriously padded high-mileage trainer that felt as comfortable as a slipper. A lot of that padding seems to have been cut out in the new version, and its frankly not as comfortable.
There also seems to be less material on the quarter panels (the sidewalls) so the laces start out wide over the tongue, and are consequently more abrasive on the top of the foot.
